Manohar inaugurates health camp at Barota
KATHUA – Minister of State for Fisheries, Cooperatives, Finance and Planning Dr Manohar Lal Sharma inaugurated free Health Camp organized in memory of Pt. Milkhi Ram Guleria here at village Barota of tehsil Billawar.
The camp was organized in collaboration with District Health Services Kathua and Mahatma Gandhi Global family to commemorate the first death anniversary of Pt. Guleria.
On the occasion Dr Manohar Lal Sharma paid floral tribute to the Pt Guleria and remembered the achievements and works done by the eminent social worker.
Chairman Backward Classes Abdul Majid Malik, President Gandhi global family (Incharge J&K State) S.P Verma. Spokesman (All India) Ashok Kapoor, Activists from Bihar , Haryana and Orissa, panchs and sarpanchs and family members of the Pt Guleria also paid floral tribute to the departed soul.
Dr Manohar Lal Sharma while speaking on the occasion appreciated the works of Gandhi Global family for organizing such free camps for the needy and poor peoples. He said that the people should incline to follow Gandhian philosophy which is even more effective in modern times. He said the dream of Mahatma Gandhi to bring Panchayti Raj at the gross root level is not only improving the socio economic status of the rural masses but also taking the democratic set up to new height.
During the camp team of doctors checked above 300 peoples and provided free medicines to the needy patients.
Later, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma laid foundation stone of additional building of newly upgraded Government High School Barota to be constructed with an estimated cost of 39.91 lac under RMSA scheme. The construction work of school building will be executed by PWD department.
The inhabitants of Barota village thanked the minister for fulfilling their demands of up gradation of the middle school Barota. The residents of Barota and adjoining villages also apprised the minister about their problems and demands which includes boundary wall for upgraded school, hand pumps, blacktopping of Ghurha to Dramini road, early commissioning of water supply scheme Barota, construction of Naran road.
Dr Manohar Lal Sharma said government is well aware of the difficulties faced by the people especially living in far off rural areas. He said government is keen to provide education to every individual of the state for which adequate educational infrastructure has been provided at every habitation. He added that central government is providing liberal funding to the state under SSA and RMSA to improve the standard of education.
He appealed the people to maintain communal harmony and not to fall prey to the nefarious designs of the anti social elements.
Responding to the demands Dr Sharma announced Rs 3.50 lac for the construction of Naran Road in panchayat Barota under CDF. To resolve the water scarcity problem of the Barota panchayat Dr Sharma assured that the work on tube well will commence soon. He directed the XEN PWD to make estimate of boundary wall and additional two room for the school and directed him to do the necessary repair to the roads highlighted by the locals.
Tehsildar Billawar, BMO Billawar and others District and Tehsil level officers and large number of people were also present on the occasion.
