Maoists attack in Kerala

Office of forest department in Palakkad and Waynad districts in Kerala were attacked by suspected Maoists in the wee hours. No casualties were reported in any of the incident.

A forest range office in one of the main tribal hamlets in the state, Mukkala in the Attapady region of Palakkad district, was attacked and some of the furniture was found damaged.
In the other mishap, outlawed activists vandalized an office of “Vana Samrakshana Samithi”, at Kunhom at Vellamunda forest area in Waynad district.
 It was evident that the attack was prompted after an exchange of fire between police and Maoists at Vellamunda. The police reported that the security has been tightened in the specific areas.
