March carried out by JKLF activists foiled; Dozen detained

Srinagar, May 27: Police on Friday detained dozens of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) activists on Friday who carried out a protest and marched against the government’s initiative on providing different area of settlement for the ex-army officers and Pandits in Kashmir.
Activists took out a march from Maqbool Manzil, Maisuma towards Lal Chowk and later when they reached Badshah Chowk, Police along with paramilitary CRPF intercepted them and detained dozens of the activists.
JKLF founder Maqbool Bhat’s younger brother Zahoor Ahmed was leading the March.
Hurriyat Amalgams and JKLF gave the call of shut down and peaceful protest after Friday prayer across J&K.
