Market checking intensified at Srinagar; Rs. 33000 fine realized from erring traders

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 23: Market checking has been intensified in Srinagar city by teams headed by Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Assistant Commissioner Food Safety, Assistant Director Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Enforcement Srinagar, Officers of Legal Metrology Srinagar, weight and Measures and other officer of concerned departments.

The teams conducted market checking of Srinagar city including the areas of Harisingh High Street, Lal chowk, Jawahar Nagar, Raj Bagh, Maisuma, Kokarbaz, Sonawar, Batmaloo and other adjoining areas. During the market checking Rs 33000 was recovered as fine from the erring traders on account of trade licence fee.

During checking, the Additional Deputy Commissioner interacted with the people and enquired about the rates of essential Commodities. He said that the checking will be intensified and will continue for checking and keeping the prices of essential commodities under control.
