Market checking intensified in Srinagar; Rs. 49,200 realized as fine from the erring traders

SRINAGAR, JULY 07: The Enforcement squad headed by Assistant Director, Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution Kashmir conducted market inspections in the Srinagar city and booked erring traders for violating Essential Commodities Act, 1955.

The markets of Alamgari Bazar, Soura, Gulab Bagh Habak, Qamarwari, Zero Bridge Rajbagh, Gagribal, HMT, Shalteng, Tengpora, Batmaloo, Chanapora, Natipora, Methan, Kanipora, Kursoo Rajbagh, Jawahar Nagar, Khanyar, Mehjoor Nagar, Dangerpora, Nawa Kadal, Hawal, Bishember Nagar, Kohna Khan, Dalgate, Buchwara, Brane etc. were inspected during the process.

During the inspection, 325 business establishments were inspected and Rs. 49,200 were recovered as fine from 101 erring shopkeepers for violation of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
