Rajendra was fondly called as Raju by his family members and friends. Being the youngest child, he was also the spoilt one but he always wanted to serve his nation by joining police force.
Prior to joining police department, he had worked in SOJ and later in CID. He always performed his duty with dedication and sincerity. When the insurgency was at its peak in the state, he killed dozens of terrorists and saved his country and countrymen.
Rajendra is survived by his mother Basant Devi, wife Anjana Sharma and daughter Anshika Sharma. His father passed away last year due to heart attack.
His mother says, “In the morning he was sitting in my room and was talking to his daughter. After that he got a phone call and started preparing to go out. I had made breakfast for him but he even did not have that. He told me that he will be back in few minutes. After he left we got a call that he has been injured in a police encounter and after 2 hours we got another call that he has been martyred.”
