JAMMU: Directorate Education Jammu has suspended the superintendent of an examination centre and his deputy over allegations of mass copying in Mahore area of Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Pending enquiry into the conduct in terms of Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956, Master Sharief-Ud-Din (Superintendent) and teacher Ashiq Ahmad (Deputy Superintendent) of 10th Exam center No. 5903 High School Jamslan, Zone Mahore are hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect,” reads an order issued by the DSEJ, Anuradha Gupta.
“During the period of suspension they shall remain attached with Chief Education Office, Reasi,” the order stated.
The order followed surfacing of a video and photographs, showing mass copying by students of 10th class in Bi-annual Science paper which was held on May 11 in the examination centre, a local news gathering news agency reported.
In the video, the youth in scattered groups are seen helping the examinees with the chits from outside the examination centre.
