Mass Singing of National Anthem at JU
Jammu August 23: Fortnightly celebrations of the 70th Independence Day of India organized by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu concluded here today with Mass Singing of the National Anthem of India at the Fountain Plaza, University of Jammu. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. R.D. Sharma was the Chief Guest at the occasion and the programme was attended by a huge gathering which included Directors, Rectors, Deans, Officers, Faculty Members, Staff, Students and Scholars of the University of Jammu.
Dean Students Welfare, Prof. Satnam Kour expressed her gladness over such a warm response from the august gathering for this programme of National Integration. In sync with the initiative by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu had organized several events to commemorate the celebrations of the 70th Independence Day of India with huge fanfare which included the programmes of Singing and Dancing, Painting and Slogan Writing that concluded today with the Mass Singing of the National Anthem, organized at 11 am all over the Country, which in itself was the important feature of today’s event when the whole Nation reverberated with the sound of National Anthem at the same time.
The singing of National Anthem was led by Dr. Kuldeep Sudeshi. The event was coordinated by Sumeet Sharma and Ifra Kak under the guidance of Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Chairman Campus Culture Committee, Dr. Anupama Vohra, Associate Dean Students Welfare, Dr. A.R. Manhas, Assistant Dean Students Welfare and Dr. Parmil Kumar, Assistant Dean Students Welfare. The event was conducted by Sumeet Sharma and the sound was looked after by Kulbhushan Thakur.
