Srinagar, October 05: A math lecturer posted in Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Khrew in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district is showing a big thumb to the guidelines provided by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education. He prefers to teach ‘properly’ only at his personal residence.
The details have been provided by a student of class 12th studying in GGHSS, Khrew. The girl said that Ab Hamid Wani, the math lecturer is posted in the school for the last six years. He doesn’t show any interest in teaching during his class but takes classes at his own residence for which he takes tuition fees separately. During class, he tells students to do self study. The students except those who take tuition from him are finding difficulty to do math on their own. The student are now worried because there are only two months left before final examination but Wani hasn’t completed the syllabus yet.
On this matter, Director of School Education, Shah Faisal said that the teachers are not being transferred as per the two year tenure at one place rule in the valley pertaining to the already existing shortage. He has given an assurance that he will investigate the matter and will take strict actions against teacher, if found guilty.
