Another Jammu girl has made the state proud after being selected as the top finalist at Haut Monde Mrs. India Pagent.
Meet Sangeet Kaur Sandhu, her journey started from the “City of Temples”, the most beautiful city on the globe – Jammu. She did her schooling from Cooperative Public School, Jammu and pursued her graduation at Govt Collage for Women, Jammu. During her Childhood days, she has been a part of various Talk shows on A.I.R – ALL INDIA RADIO Jammu.
“When I was 6 I got my first paycheck / earning of 250 rupees ( Which i never encashed and kept it in my treasure) for a talk show on A.I.R. During my childhood I started participating in various T.V shows on Doordarshan Jammu. And as my father had his roots connected to theater and acting thus I had the opportunity to be featured in Punjabi TV serial “Jhulse Phool” for Doordarshan Jammu as a child artist.”, she told U4UVoice.
She has also been associated with “Natrang Theater” and has been fortunate enough to learn important lessons of Acting, Singing, Dancing, writing , Anchoring from Theatre Maestro Shri balwant Thakur.
She also hosted the “Jammu & Kashmir festival” held in Delhi in the year 2006 and later in the year 2012. During her School days she was an active participant in debates, writing poetry and interschool competitions. She has a loads of rewards and recognitions in my kitty .
“The year 2004 was a life changing year for me not because I joined Collage but because it laid the foundation of my journey from an ordinary to an extra ordinary girl as I was fortunate enough to be a part of NCC. This decision of mine changed my personality forever. Not just I was given the opportunity to visit different places, states and get a taste of different cultures of India but also I was amongst the chosen ones who participated in our country’s biggest celebration – Republic Day Celebration 2006 . I hosted various cultural events during the celebrations. I was fortunate to represent the art, culture and folklore of my state on National level. I was appreciated and awarded for my work as “Masters Of Ceremony” amongst all the cadets from all over India. We were invited by the State governor and CM for felicitation for our performance and work during RDC 2006.”, she said.
At present she is working as an IT Process Manager (HCL technologies) with an experience of over 10 years. She is married since last 3 and a half years and a mother of a 8 months old baby girl (Amayra). “I was missing the thrill and joy of being recognized for something extraordinary. This feeling drove me to be a part of Mrs India worldwide season 7. where she represented Jammu and kashmir and went on to clinch the coveted title.
The state is truly proud of her. You go Girl!
