Srinagar, February 02: As per another speculation being made in the political corridors, some actual decision over government formation is likely to come up with today’s meeting between the Governor N N Vohra and PDP President Mehbooba Mufti.
As per the reports in a local daily, Mehbooba will place the party’s position before Governor N N Vohra in today’s meeting.
Talking about her meeting with party legislators on Monday, the sources have said that while most of the MLAs are of the opinion that the party should continue with its alliance with the right wing BJP with a condition that the ‘Agenda of Alliance’ should be implemented in letter and spirit.
All the components of the agenda of alliance which were agreed upon during Mufti Mohammed Sayeed’s reign should be re-confirmed by BJP and the party also release a time-bound action plan to address the financial, political and economic concerns of the state, sources said.
The sources also revealed that Mehbooba’s speech during the meeting reflects that she was critical of the arrogant attitude adopted by BJP leadership and she will now be convinced to form government with BJP only after receiving a written assurance.
The legislators reiterated their stand that Mehbooba has the complete authority to take the final call on the government formation.
However, the PDP leader and spokesperson Naeem Akhtar is also likely to join Mehbooba during her meeting with Governor to convey the party stand over government formation.
Pertinently, the Governor on Sunday have written to both PDP and BJP to clarify their stands regarding government formation in the state. He has asked to file a reply by Tuesday, February 2.
