Jammu, June 13: On the directions of the District Magistrate Jammu, the air-borne activities have been suspended in the entire district under Section 144 of J&K CrPC.
Following intelligence inputs that terrorists may use sub-conventional methods to target IAF/Defense/Police installations in near future, the District Magistrate of Jammu, Simrandeep Singh, today imposed immediate restrictions on adventure sports.There are however certain conditions that will have to be strictly observed.
As per the order, there shall be no private air-borne activity like para-jumping, para-gliding, hoisting of air balloons and others within 1 Km radius from any Defense/Security installation in Jammu. Prior permission will be necessary if any such activity needs to conducted anywhere in the District.
Also, all the private agencies are required to submit a detailed list of the equipments/items under their possession. Anyone willing to start such business will have to seek permission and any private or government agency subletting such equipment to any third person will be obligated to take authorization from the District Magistrate.
The also mentioned that any violation of the rules shall be liable to penal action under Section 188 of RPC.
All the Tehsildars and SDM’s of Jammu along with DC Jammu, IGP, DIG, SSP and other Police officials were communicated the same.
