Minor Amritsar girl separated from parents at Jammu station, restored to parents

A 12-year-old girl, who got separated from her family at the Jammu Railway Station, was traced by the railway police and restored to her parents, the railways police said today.
The girl, identified as Pooja from Amritsar, got separated from her kin at Jammu in the morning yesterday and reached the Katra Railway station in the Malwa Express, they said.
A team of railway police swung into action and found her parents by the evening yesterday, they said, adding she was restored to them after completing legal formalities.

On this GRP staff swung into action and brought the girl to P/S GRP Katra and kept under the custody of lady Police. On interacting the said girl disclosed that she had come with her relatives, who got down from the said train at Jammu Railway Station without informing her and mistakenly reached at Railway Station Katra.

She told her name as Pooja D/O Lakhvinder Singh R/O Near Guru Teg Bahadur School Gehri Mandi Jandila Amritsar.

On this SSP Railways Katra Shri Ranjit Singh Sambyal constituted a team immediately under the supervision of Sh. Bodh Raj Dy.SP, SDPO Railways Katra to know the whereabouts of the said girl. GRP team put all the efforts to know her whereabouts and traced out her parents within shortest time.

Finally SHO contacted/informed her parents and called them to P/S GRP Katra. After completing legal formalities the said girl has been restored to her parents. The parents of the said girl lauded the role of GRP Katra for the safe custody of their daughter.
