RAJOURI: To hear and redress public grievances, Member Legislative Assembly Nowshera, Ravinder Raina and District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Shabir Ahmed Bhatt held grievance redressal camps in Sunderbani and Nowshera Sub-Divisions.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Dr. Haseeb Mughal, Additional District Development Commissioner, Veerji Hango, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sunderbani, Kartar Singh, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Nowshera, Harbans Lal, Executive Engineers of PHE, PDD, R&B, other district officers besides Sarpanches, Panches and local public in large numbers attended the darbars.
Sarpanches, Panches and local residents raised problems pertaining to water and power supply, availability of quality ration as per new scale, timely completion of ongoing development works besides upgradation and construction of various public offices and education institutions. They put forth several demands including construction of Tehsil complex in Sunderbani, availability of feed, posting of anesthetist at SDH Sunderbani, check on absenteeism in government offices and prevention of encroachment in Sunderbani town etc.
While addressing the gathering, MLA asked the administration to be responsive to public issues and fast track developmental projects in rural areas.
The MLA informed that 85 kanal land has been identified for construction of college building in Sunderbani. He asked the administration to expedite the work on bridges and other public works taken up under district plan. He also informed the public that from the current month people would get ration as per 2011 census. Raina exhorted upon the locals to effectively highlight local issues of public importance. He asked the officers for prompt redressal of issues raised and assured the assembly that their genuine demands would be met.
District Development Commissioner in his address highlighted the importance of people in maintaining peaceful environment, which he said was vital for development. He said the officers of district administration are accessible and responsive for all and assured the public that all the issues raised by them will be promptly addressed.
The DC also asked the new eligible voters to enroll in the Electoral Rolls being updated from September 15. He also advised them for getting Adhaar Card saying that it is a key document for availing public services. He instructed the officers to ensure punctuality in government offices so that people coming from far flung areas of the district do not face inconvenience.
