Bhaderwah (J&K), Dec 3: A moderate intensity jolt was felt by residents of Doda district in Jammu and Kashmir today.
Earthquake measuring 4.3 on Richter Scale, with epicentre around 12km south-west of Bhaderwah, struck Doda and adjoining areas including Bhaderwah and gandoh around 4:20 am, Saturaday morning, MET officials said.
Panic-stricken people rushed out of their houses in Doda town in fear. Though no panic has been reported the people are wary of any such occurrence in near future.
People of Chenab valley are apprehensive of tremors after a study by a group of US scientists published last year predicted that there is a possibility of major earthquake in J&K.
