Mohammed Shami’s estranged wife Hasin Jahan to make bollywood debut

Hasin Jahan, estranged wife of Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami, is all set to make her Bollywood debut in a movie.

The news comes days after Jahan appeared in bold photo-shoot. A video had emerged on Twitter last Saturday, in which Jahan was seen posing for a photo-shoot in a bold avatar.

Mohammed Shami and wife Hasin Jahan have been in the news all year after couple were involved in a bitter public spat where Jahan accused the fast-bowler of cheating and abuse.

While the duo continue to live separately, it seems Jahan has moved on to a happier space in her life.

Speaking to ANI, Jahan said that the film, being directed by Amjad Khan, was offered to her after she went back to modeling in Mumbai.

“When I thought about getting back to modeling, I was asked to come to Mumbai. I went there and did some modeling shoots and a short film, post which Amjad (Khan) sir told me about a film,” said Jahan.

She said that the shooting will possibly start in October and is feeling proud about working with ‘Gul Makai’ director Amjad Khan.

The film which Jahan has signed is titled ‘Fatwa’ where she plays the role of a print journalist.

“All the legworks are being done and shooting would begin in October if everything goes according to plan,” she said.

A former model, Hasin says she considered going back to being in front of the camera after her falling out with Shami.

Jahan had filed a domestic violence case against Shami and others in Kolkata’s Alipore Court on April 10. Jahan had also sought maintenance from Shami.

Jahan earlier had filed a complaint against Shami at the Lalbazar police station in kolkata, following which he was charged under various non-bailable and bailable sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including Section 498A, which amounts to cruelty to a woman by her husband or his relatives.

Jahan had alleged that Shami abused her physically and mentally and that he was also involved in several extra-marital affairs.

Shami has however rejected all allegations.
