  1. Mehbooba wins Anantnag by-election by 11,500 votes: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday won the Anantnag by-election comfortably, defeating her nearest rival of the Congress by over 12,000 votes, even as the opposition cried foul and described her victory as the “murder of democracy”. This is double the margin by which late J&K CM Mufti Mohammad Sayeed won. More Details here.

Eight CRPF men die in Kashmir highway ambush, two militants killed: Eight Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers were killed and another 22 injured on Saturday after militants ambushed a CRPF convoy on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district, police said.

  3. Ban imposed on transportation of bovine in Samba district: District Magistrate, Samba in exercise of the powers vested under Section 144 Cr, P.C. has imposed ban on transportation of Bovine from the district.
