Mufti condemns brutal killing of Kashmiri youth Manzoor

Srinagar, Apr 6:  Strongly condemning the killing of youth Manzoor Ahmad Bhat by militants in north Kashmir district of Bandipora early Friday morning, Chief minister Mehbooba Mufti said terror has hit a new low as the brutality of this act has left us all in shock.

Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, she said “ The brutal killing of young Manzoor Ahmad is highly condemnable but should also serve as a reminder as to where the society is headed. The scourge of terror has hit a new low as the brutality of this act has left us all in shock”.

According to police, Manzoor Ahmad Bhat was abducted along with his father Abdul Gaffar by militants of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) from their house at Bonkhan Mohalla, Hajin area, late on Wednesday night.

However, Gaffar later managed to escape from the militants’ clutches in an injured condition after he was fired upon. The injured was rushed to a local hospital from where he was later referred to Srinagar. The throat slit body of Manzoor was recovered from an orchard in the area on Friday morning.
