After CM Mufti Mohammad’s directions for better management of traffic in Jammu and Kashmir, traffic and police personnel from various stations were seen on their toes since morning. All roadside vendors were removed and there was free flow of traffic in the city. The officials also acted against passenger vehicle drivers who pick and drop passengers in the middle of the roads leading to major traffic jams.
CM Mufti in a meeting yesterday, gave strict directions for a improvised traffic management in the city as all the major routes were witnessing long traffic jams almost every day. Hundreds of vendors had also put up their stalls at Batmaloo near the General Bus Stand, Iqbal Park, Amira Kadal Brudge, Hari Singh High street, Naaz Crossing and Dalgate who were removed immediately after Mufti’s directions.
