SRINAGAR, JULY 17: Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, today greeted people on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, wishing them well-being and prosperity.

In his message of felicitations on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr, Mufti Sayeed reminded the people about the essence of the festival, especially remembering the poor and needy and sharing happiness with them.

The Chief Minister urged the people to celebrate the occasion with those who were ravaged in the floods of 2014. “Eid embeds the message of taking care of the needy and making them part of the happiness by extending financial support to them,” he said.

Mufti Sayeed said the spirit behind observance of Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the end of the fasting month, is to express our gratitude to the Almighty Allah for giving us courage to observe fasts in Ramadhan and rededicate ourselves to truthfulness, sincerity, self-control, patience and piety, thus showing complete obedience to Allah.
