Srinagar, October 12: The Chief Minister of the state Mufti Mohammad Sayeed is speculated to be flying to Delhi in the coming days to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The agenda of the meeting will be finalization of the outline of the much awaited financial economical package of seventy thousand crore rupees.
Reports say that the Jammu and Kashmir Government and the Union Finance Ministry have already done the legwork about the package. The announcement of the package may be made in the Prime Minister’s visit to the state most likely to happen by the end of this month.
Government sources have revealed that the provided package will be used largely to revive the economy and development of the state and a part of it will be granted as relief package to people hit by the floods last year. The funds will be spent on various development projects which have already been identified by the state government over the next six to eight years.
The state government is already facing severe criticism by the citizen for not providing any sort of relief to the flood victims even after more than a year; the package will also have some cash relief for the flood-hit victims.
