Multi Purpose Unions highlight issues



Jammu: All Jammu and Kashmir Multi Purpose Worker Unions of Rural Development Department has highlighted the demands and problems being faced by the Multi Purpose workers due to the adamant attitude of the government towards them.

Union State General Secretary Rakesh Sharma while addressing the press conference urged the government to address and solve their long pending demands, otherwise the union have no option left to launch indefinite strike against the government till the demands are met.

The union further demanded reorganization of rural development department which has come into existence from October 2, 1952 but till date no reorganization has been taken place, removal of Pay anomalies, count of rendered services from September 1997 for fixing the seniority and pensionery benefits to MPWs as government has done in the case of RETs on June 26 this year and promotions of MPWs who have serving 25 years in the rural department even though not a single worker has been promoted so far.
