Multilingual Mushaira organized by DIC Doda


A multilingual Mushaira was organized by the District Information Centre Doda in the premises of Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu.

 Sub Divisional Magistrate Bhaderwah Bhupinder Kumar was the chief guest on the occasion while as Rector, Bhaderwah Campus University of Jammu Prof. G.M Bhat was the guest of honour, besides Tehsildar Bhaderwah Bashir ul Hassan, District Information Officer Doda Anoop Kumar, prominent citizens, Students and members of print and electronic media among others were also present on the occasion.

 While speaking on the occasion, SDM appreciated the efforts of Information Department in preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of the region. He said that the poetic compositions represent many social issues prevailing in the society such as drug menace, local problems etc. Such programmes also provides a stage for the artists and poets to showcase their talents and also inspires the others to compose such artistic works who have interest in it, besides it diverts the attention of the youth towards creative activities, he added.

 Rector Bhaderwah Campus University of Jammu, Prof. G.M Bhat, in his address welcomed the organization of such activities in the region and shared his experiences and informed that this Chenab valley region has a history of producing greatest poets and artists. He also remembered the contribution made by the renowned poets of the region in field of art, culture and languages.

Later, a colourful cultural programme was also presented by the local artists and cultural assistants of DIC Doda on the occasion.

DIO Doda Anoop Kumar thanked SDM Bhaderwah and Rector Bhaderwah Campus Jammu University Prof. G.M Bhat for their cooperation for the successful conduct of Mushaira. He said such programmes provides a platform for the budding poets of the area and boost their confidence. Further he expressed hope for such cooperation in future from the line departments in promoting poetry based activities in the region.
