Municipal Commission Jammu initiates ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ at Heritage School
Heritage School had the honour to become the first school to join hands with Jammu Municipal Corporation, in ‘Swach Bharat Abhiyan’ under the stewardship of Mr. Soujanya Sharma, Municipal Commissioner, Jammu.
Municipal Corporation is taking forward the awareness campaign initiated by the Honorable Prime Minister Sh. Narender Modi. Municipal Corporation officers will be visiting the various schools in Jammu city under this programme.
Mr. Soujanya Sharma visited Heritage school on 5th May 2015, accompanied by Mr. Sanjay, liaison officer with PMO for promoting ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ and other officials of the department.
He interacted with the students during the School Assembly. In his address to the students he stressed on the need to take forward the campaign the utmost devotion and urgency as it is the unprecedented the need of modern India if it wants to establish itself as a truly progressive and futuristic nation in the world.
He discussed ways in which each member of the community to achieve the goal of Swach Bharat and opined that for every campaign to be successful support of the masses is essential. He emphasized on the role of students in making the campaign a success as they are the future of the country and have to carry forward the legacy. He concluded his address by taking the promise from the students that they will act as ambassadors of this endeavour.
After the interactive session pamphlets were distributed among the students to generate further awareness.
The Principal Heritage School Mr. Jagadish Singh Dhami, extended his gratitude to Mr. Soujanya Sharma for sharing his valuable thoughts and making Heritage school a partner in ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.’
