Murder Attempt on govt official’s wife in Rajbagh sends shivers across Srinagar

Srinagar : After the news of attempted murder in the Rajbagh area in Srinagar spread, the entire city was fear gripped and alarmed.
Wife of a former Forest Conservator, Abdul Hameed Khan, was attacked by an unidentified man at her house in the Rajbagh locality around 11:30 pm on Monday. The couple, who live alone at their place, raised alarm and that saved her life.
As per the Police speculations, the attacker might be someone who knew about the couple living alone and was a frequent visitor. The SHO (Station House Officer) Rajbagh, Kuldeep Koul, told a local daily that the neighbors are being questioned and meanwhile, a case has been filed and the investigation has started. They have assured that the assailant will be nabbed soon.
The police is probing all angles and collecting all possible clues regarding the case.
The police too is on alert since the incident followed within a month after a man was murdered by an unknown person in the Rajbagh locality near the Zero bridge area.
The residents are filled with fear with the two back to back attacks in the locality.
