MVD Samba launches Road Safety Signatory Campaign


Motor Vehicle Department Samba today created Tree of Remembrance & launched Road Safety Pledge Signatory from G.D.C Samba.

The program was inaugurated by Principal Government Degree College Dr G. S. Rakwal. Tree of Remembrance was created at college campus for generating awareness of safety equipments installed in vehicles. Speaking on the occasion, Principal of the College emphasized upon students to play pivotal rule in generating awareness about road safety. He further informed students about new penalties and punishment under amended Motor Vehicle ACT. Later leaflets on traffic rules, penalties and punishments were distributed among students.

Speaking on the occasion ARTO Rehana Tabassam called for better enforcement of traffic rules and educating people about road awareness and emergency response to accident victims during golden hours.

MVI Surinder briefed the students about each safety equipment installed on Remembrance Tree. Later on, First Responder Training Cum Health Chek up Camp for drivers was also inaugurated by Chief Medical Officer Samba Dr Rajinder Sambyal at Vijaypur. During the camp about 150 drivers participated and their routine B.P, Vision, Sugar Test be done. Special training to provide first aid to victim during golden hours was also demonstrated by Specialists.
