Mysterious blast in Pampore Army camp leaves over a dozen injured

Srinagar, August 29: Fresh reports have just come in confirming a blast in Army camp at Khrew, Pampore which has left many army Jawans injured.

Sources say that though earlier the reason behind the blast was unknown, the latest report says that an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) went off accidentally in the aforementioned army camp which leaving at least 14 Army men injured. At the time of filing this report, three men were known to be in critical situation and an Army chopper was on job. The evacuation is in progress and injured were rushed to base camp hospital. Army Camp 

A defence source told media persons, “Fourteen soldiers were injured inside the Corps Battle School (CBS) in Khrew area today (Saturday) in an explosion.”

“The explosion occurred due to mishandling of an explosive device and there are no reports of any sabotage in this incident. Three troopers have sustained critical injuries while the rest are being treated mostly for minor injuries,” the source added.

CBS Khrew is situated inside the camp of 50th battalion of counter insurgency Rashtriya Rifles.
