Narendra Modi to visit SMVDU next week
JAMMU AND KASHMIR
JAMMU, APRIL 15: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Jammu on April 19, his first visit to Jammu and Kashmir after the swearing-in of the Mehbooba Mufti-led Peoples Democratic Party-BJP government.
Official sources said the Prime Minister would address the convocation function of the Jammu-based Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), besides meeting BJP workers in the State unit and attending one or two more official engagements, including a visit to a local hospital.
The visit assumes significance in the backdrop of the fact that Prime Minister Modi will be addressing a university convocation in Jammu, while there is student unrest on the campus of National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Srinagar over the question of hoisting the national flag there.
