National anthem disrespect row: local student group meet DSW; claim they have evidence
On April 11, a delegation of local students held a meeting with DSW (Dean Student Welfare) in connection with the case of insult of national anthem by students of a University of Kashmir University.
The group claimed that they have valid proof of the alleged incident. The members of the group were asked to present the evidence in two days. Reportedly, the university administration will also issue a public notice in which any entity or individual can put their viewpoint, as confirmed by DSW Prof. Satnam Kaur.
In the meeting, the delegation members said that it was shameful to insult the national anthem in the premises of Jammu University. They alleged that it’s a conspiracy. In a way to protest, the group of students had intervened in the ongoing events of the sports meet.
After that, the final matches and closing ceremony were performed on the JU grounds under tight security arrangements. The university administration is also investigating the matter of disruption the title matches meanwhile. However, no action has yet been taken.
