Jammu :National Integration tour organised for the girl students of villages located in remote and far flung areas of Rajouri district under Operation Sadbhavna by Romeo Force was flagged in by Lt Gen KH Singh, AVSM, YSM, General Officer Commanding, 16 Corps at Nagrota today. The tour was aptly named ‘Paigam-E-Aman, Chenab-Yamuna’ as its aim was to bring awareness about the rich historical and cultural heritage of the country and to spread the message of peace and harmony.

During their visit on tour to Jammu and Delhi from 08 to 14 October 2014, girl students had an opportunity to visit prestigious educational institutes Kendriya Vidhyalaya, RK Puram, Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan and Ameinty University, recreational places in Delhi like Delhi Zoo, historical monuments Qutub Minar, Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Shakti Sthal, Shantivan, Veer Bhumi, Raj Ghat, Humayun Tomb, Nehru Planetarium, Teen Murti Bhawan and India Gate. The students also got an opportunity for metro ride and movie at PVR. During the tour, students also interacted with Honourable President and other local leaders of J&K at Sansad Bhawan.

Miss Shamim Akhtar resident of village Challas and Miss Zarina Akhtar resident of village Challas were very excited after the tour and said that the event has given them an opportunity to have a glimpse of the rich cultural heritage progress and development made by our country. They were thrilled to meet the President.

Miss Raftna Kouser resident of village Trala Jageer said that it was like a dream come true for her to visit such places outside the state and see the world as also get an opportunity to interact with people from other states. The successful completion of this tour has resulted in fostering closer relationship between the locals and the Army.
