NCC Republic Day Contingent brings laurels to the state
Jammu, Feb 02: The J&K Contingent comprising of 102 NCC Cadets returned from New Delhi on 31 January 2016 after participating in various events and competition in the run up to the Republic Day Parade culminating in the Prime Minister’s Rally.
The contingent brought laurels to the J&K State at National Level by their excellence in various competitions. In a tough competition against other Directorates at National level the contingent secured overall second position in “Ballet” and third position in “Group Song” competition.
In the Best Cadet competition, Cadet Garima Charak of Senior Wing (Army), stood first as the “Best Cadet” in Senior Wing Girls (Army). Cadet Arti Devi of Senior Wing (Navy) secured third position in the same competition. It is for the first time in the recent history of J&K NCC that two Cadets of the State have come in top three positions. Cadet Rafeeq Hajam, Cadet Rohit Sharma and Cadet Mukesh Kumar come third in the Ship Modeling Competition.
The contingent was felicitated for their achievement at a function held at NCC Camping Ground, Nagrota. Major General
S S Jakhar, Additional Director General, NCC J&K compliment the cadets, the complete Republic Day Contingent especially award winners Officers, Associated NCC Officers and the staff for their outstanding performance which was possible only due to their hard work, dedication, commitment and will to excel. The General Officer brought out that after this wonderful exposure, at the National level the cadets should feel confident and this experience will make them better and leading citizens of the country. He called upon the cadets to pursue their dreams and be worthy citizens of the Nation, respectable members of the society and motivated aspirants for the Armed Forces or to join any other chosen field. He concluded by wishing them good luck and God speed in their future endeavours.
