New modus operandi: Catch the retired who were corrupt

Today Challan of Case FIR NO: 02/2014 Police Station Vigilance Organization Kashmir against accused the public servants Ghulam Nabi Dar S/O Late Assad-ullah Dar R/O Badipora Badgam, the then Ex. Engineer (who has since then been retired as Dead wood ) and   Mohammad Shamim Parra S/o Habibullah Parra R/o Beehama Ganderbal the then orderly in the office of the Executive Engineer (REW) Ganderbal was produced before  Hon’ble Court of Special Anti-corruption Judge Srinagar presided by Shri Yaspal Bourney.

The instant Case was registered in P/S VOK on the basis of a written complaint lodged by Shri Abdul Majid Lone S/o Faqir Mohammad Lone R/o Hayen Kangan Ganderbal alleged therein that accused Ghulam Nabi Dar S/o Late Assadullah Dar R/o Badipora Budgam, the then Executive Engineer (REW) Ganderbal for demanding bribe of Rs. 10,000/- for processing the bill of the complainant on account of executed work of Apna Panchayat Ghar at Halqa sarfaraw-A at Kangan.  After great persuasion by the complainant the accused agreed for processing bill only on receiving bribe amounting Rs 3000. The complainant was not willing to succumb to undue demand of accused and brought it to the notice of VOK for taking legal action into the matter.

On receipt of the complaint, Case FIR No. 02/2014 U/S 5(2) P.C. Act Svt. 2006 r/w 161 RPC P/S VOK was registered and investigation was taken up. The trap team constituted by VOK headed by DySP Adil Hussain  laid a successful trap in which Mohammad Shamim Parra the then Orderly in the office of the Executive Engineer (REW) Ganderbal was caught red handed while demanding and accepting Rs 3,000/- as bribe from the complainant on the instance and direction of the above said Ex.Engineer . The tainted money was recovered from the possession of the accused Shameem Para  in the presence of independent witness.

The investigation of the case was concluded as proved against the accused persons and after the accord of Govt. sanction in favour of Mohammad Shameem Para  for launching prosecution, the challan of the case was produced before the Hon’ble court of Special Anti-Corruption Judge Srinagar today on 24.03.2016 for Judicial determination. The next date of the case has been fixed on 27.04.2016.
