Srinagar, February 20: The Department of School Education, Kashmir is all set to implement its new transfer policy and as a part of plan, the department has created different zones in which transfer of teachers would be carried out.
Kashmir education department has divided government teachers into three zones — A, B and C — under the new policy for transfer of teachers. The new policy said that the teacher who has been transferred under zone A will be able to return home in the evening. On the other hand, the teachers posted in zone B will need to change his residence.
Also, the teachers of Zone c will be posted in tough or remote area like Ladakh, Machil, Tanghdar or Gurez for a year. After serving in their respective zones for an year, the teacher will be given inter-zone transfers.

As per an official of the department, the policy has been reconstructed with a view that the teachers posted in remote areas were forgotten. They always had to fight for their transfer but now with the new policy their grievances will be taken care of by the department.
Also, DESK has organised a “transfer fest” in all the districts of Kashmir recently in which a huge number of teachers participated and presented their preferences for postings to the authorities concerned.
The department recorded their advice and the changes will be made accordingly after winter break in schools ends on March 1.
