Jammu Sept 26: In a new development to last week’s gruesome murder of a 26-year-old youth, Tarseem, at Pir Mitha, police yesterday claimed that the killing was the fallout of drug abuse.
All his friends have been arrested in this connection. “We have recovered all the syringes which were used to inject drugs form one of the friends residence. These syringes are under examination at Srinagar Forensic Science laboratory, “said the police.
The police has recorded their individual statements and will take the investigation forward based on these statement.
“His friends told us that on his birthday night they were doing drugs. However, this does not prove whether Tarseem was a drug addict or not. There is a possibility his friends might have forced him to do drugs, “the police further added.
Tarseem, who turned 26 on Friday, was allegedly murdered under mysterious circumstances and his dead body was found behind DC office at Peer Mitha. He was out with his friends and they were supposed to celebrate his birthday.
