SRINAGAR, JULY 22: Prof. Nirmal Gupta today assumed charge of Chairperson of Jammu and Kashmir State Social Welfare Board (JK-SSWB).
Soon after assuming the charge, the Chairperson convened a meeting of the staff and officers of the Board.
The Chairperson reviewed the overall functioning of the Board and stressed upon the officers and field functionaries to work with missionary spirit for upliftment of weaker sections. She emphasized on proper implementation of welfare schemes besides skill training to the needy especially poor and orphans.
Prof. Gupta was received by Secretary of the Board, Mr. Aamir Ali, Administrative Officer, Vijay Tickoo and other functionaries of the Board.
The Chairperson said that Government endeavors to uplift the socio economic condition of the weaker sections and has launched various welfare schemes, which needs strict implementation at grass root level. She asked the functionaries of the Board have to work with zeal and zest to achieve the welfare targets in time.
Meanwhile Prof. Gupta inspected Family Counseling Centre, Qamarwari and Crech Centre, Barji, Harwan. She took stock of the functioning of these welfare centres and directed the concerned managements for proper education and skill training and counseling to the poor.
