Jammu, January 10: The PDP-BJP coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir which was formed in March last year has come to a standstill with the untimely demise of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. With silence from both the PDP and the BJP and the visit by Sonia Gandhi, there are a number of speculations doing rounds in the political corridors over the reformation of government in the state.
It has been rumored that Mehbooba Mufti has set four pre-conditions to BJP for re-forming the alliance which include no deputy Chief Minister role, more central assistance and avoidance on speaking on sensitive issues.
However, as per Avinash Rai Khanna, MP and in-charge J&K BJP unit, the party will take its decision only after PDP elects their leader and they have not received any communiqué from the PDP about its new leader until now. He also refuted the reports of Mehbooba putting forth any set of conditions.
In the opinion of State BJP president, Sat Sharma, there is no truth about the reports of breaking of alliance and everything is fine between PDP and BJP
“We are waiting for late Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s daughter and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti to take her office so that a meeting can be held,” said BJP president.
