Facing reprisal in Jammu region for sacrificing AIIMS to the valley, Dy CM Nirmal Singh said that the Central government is soon to announce AIIMS for Jammu to end the raging debate on the issue.
While addressing a Press Conference to state the achievements of 100 days of PDP BJP government, he defended the accusations against the BJP for yielding before the coalition partner by giving away the prestigious AIIMS to the valley. He said that the opposition parties are misleading the people. Jammu will soon get an AIIMS and the party is clear on this, he said. He added that the issue is being politicized as a regional issue and a Jammu vs Kashmir issue but this time, no region will have to face discrimination.
A group of Ministers which met the PM and Home Minister Rajnath Singh, had been assured that AIIMS would also be established in Jammu region and an announcement will be made at appropriate time.
He also said that the government would act tough against the Pro-Pakistan and Khalistan elements active in Jammu and Kashmir. “Our priority is to bring peace. Any activity which can derail peace will not be tolerated from any group,” he added.
