Office of the deputy commissioner of Pulwama had released a list of 106 victims of death, injury and damage to property. Khalid Wani, the elder brother of Burhan Wani, features at number 9 in the list.
The 25-year-old Khalid was a student of political science at the Indira Gandhi National Open University.
His body was found in the nearby jungles in Tral area of Pulwama district. On the afternoon of April 13, 2015, Khalid had, reportedly, told his mother he was going for a picnic.
Meanwhile, In a written reply, in the ongoing budget session government said that Rs 1.66 Cr compensation has been paid to next of kin of forces personnel killed in Jammu and Kashmir at the rate of Rs 2 lac for death of non-state subject and Rs 5 lakh for the death of state subject since January 2015.
The government informed the house that the compensation has been sanctioned for the 77 Army/CRPF personnel killed since January in attacks and other militancy related incidents. In these cases all the cases are no-state subjects except three whose next kin have been compensated with Rs 5 lakh each.
