JAMMU: Adding to the tensions at India-Pak border this year, the customary tradition of sweet exchanging held every year on the occasion of Pakistani and Indian independence day on 14th and 15th of August respectively has been deemd canelled this year. India-Pak relations have hit a new low this year, with 192 ceasefire violations from Pakistan till July this year as per the statistics.
“Neither sweets nor gifts will be offered or taken on 14 August, Pakistan’s Independence Day and on 15 August, the day when India got freedom in 1947. The decision has been communicated to field formations,” Border Security Force officials were quoted as saying.
In the meantime, Pakistan flags were seen in areas of South Kashmir. Security has been upped in the restive areas of Kashmir valley as Paskistan and ISIS flag occurences have become a common sight lately.
