No one wanted to come to valley so this valley girl is opening her own fashion instt

Srinagar, April 25 : A young Valley girl Insha S Qazi(25) will be starting her own fashion academy a full-fledged fashion designing institute in Baramulla to train the future generation of women entrepreneurs here. After completing her education from London, she returned to Kashmir to set-up something on her own.

She said that, it took her two years to come up with such a thing in Kashmir due to the political conflict here and this made her disappointed as no institute wanted to enter Kashmir due to the risk factor.

It was after two years of constant struggle and research that made her idea into a reality as she is going to launch her training institute next week in Baramulla’s Parihaspora Pattan.

Insha has completed her civil engineering from Kashmir and then realising it was not her field she later pursued in international business and interior designing from London.

She said that she wanted to explore herself by bringing some change in the society, starting from Kashmir where she could use her skills and help women to become the agents of change and growth.

she added, that to chase her dream she has spend all her savings and sold her jewellery, and did nit even ask money fr om her parents as she wanted to do something on her own.

Named as SSMD-School of Fashion and Design, is a first of its kind in Kashmir where young Valley women who are ready to learn new skills and want to take the traditional Kashmir art to new heights and will also polish their skills.

Insha said that while talking about the women in valley they were very much interested as some cannot go outside Kashmir due to hefty fees and famikly issues, so she thought of bringing up such a thing to their doorstep at an affordable price.

Due to scarce of professional and creative institutes in Kashmir, thousands of students have to leave the state every year to pursue degrees in interior designing and fashion and in other various departments.

She said she will be targetting young women so that they can pursue short-term as well as long-term courses and then set-up their own units where ever they feel like.

She added that she will provide faculty from national as well as international institutions so that this becomes a perfect learning centre, and later will expand her institute to other districts as well.

The institute is affliated to VIDM Institute of Designing and Management, Delhi and being located far from the city, the institute will provide hostel and transport facility for students.

She added by saying, with the help of skills and professional touch, she along with here team will take the rich culture and art of the Valley to new heights with innovation and creativity.
