New Delhi: The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said on Friday that “there is no place for corruption and middlemen” in the country.
It said the National Democratic Alliance government’s priority was to create a corruption-free India and it had taken several initiatives for “uprooting corruption from the system”.
“There is no place for corruption and middlemen. The NDA government’s priority is a corruption free India. It is uprooting corruption from the system,” the PMO tweeted.
The tweet, posted with some news clippings, came a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed entrepreneurs here and expressed regret over corruption and said that the government cannot stop graft without setting up “counter-institutional arrangements”.
Modi also said that the government was trying to create institutional arrangements so that if people falter, the system would take care of the situation.
