Srinagar, August 6: The J&K Police clarified on Saturday that there was no incident of stone-pelting inside the campus of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar.
The police issued a statement:
“Apropos to the news story published in a newspaper from New Delhi today under the heading …National Institute terrorised: Shadow of Burhan Wani looms over NIT campus, non-Kashmiri students pelted with stones..
“The story is bereft of the facts, frivolous and concocted. There has been no incident of stone pelting in the NIT Srinagar campus or on the students.”
It said that the date of classes/registration has been extended for the autumn Session 2016, as per the institute authorities.
“The story as such is rebutted,” it added.
