Noida Shilpotsav-2015; JK Tourism showcases cultural heritage of state
NOIDA, NOVEMBER 1 – With an aim to attract potential tourists towards famous tourist spots in Jammu and Kashmir, JK Tourism organized a cultural event showcasing rich cultural heritage of the state at Noida Shilpotsav.
A short film depicting the scenic beauty of tourist places including Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Sonamarg, Yusmarg, Verinag, Bhaderwah, Kishtwar, Patnitop, Sanasar, Mantalai and Sudhmahadev left the audience spell bound during the event.
A delegation of JK Tourism led by Director Tourism, Jammu R K Varma participated in Noida Shilpotsav which started on October 30 and concluded on November 1, 2015.
Congratulating the artists for their scintillating performance, Director, Uttar Pradesh Tourism and Secretary Craft Samiti Abhilesh Sharma said the cultural show was one of its kind having all the elements of entertainment and information about ethnic identity, tradition, culture, music, dance and attire of Jammu and Kashmir. It was a wonderful cacophony of music and dance perfectly fused with ethnic culture, he added.
While interacting with media persons, Director Tourism said, “This is an opportunity for the people who haven’t visited J&K to witness our ethnic heritage and rich culture”.
“This event is an opportunity for us to highlight J&K as tourist destination of choice. The publicity generated here will surely lead to increase in tourist arrivals with increased awareness and right knowledge about the tourist spots in J&K” he added.
A large number of people enquired about the tourism destinations in Jammu and Kashmir from JK Tourism stall and showed keen interest in visiting the state. The JK Tourism delegation also interacted with tour operators and travel agents to motivate them for making Jammu and Kashmir, the most preferred tourist destination.
On the occasion, Director Tourism announced that a delegation of tour operators and travel agents will be invited for FAM tour of the state. Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation (JKTDC) organized Food Festival offering ethnic cuisines of J&K and offered various attractive packages to the tourists.
The JK Tourism delegation also included CEO Mansabal Development Authority Z M Shah, CEO Surinsar Mansar Development Authority Vikas Gupta and Deputy Director Tourism (Publicity) S K Attri.
