Now Kashmiri BEd students also have to complete a 2-year degree

Srinagar: 2015 B Ed students staged protest demonstrations demanding cancellation of implementing supreme Court guidelines from their batch.
They said while they got admitted in the department the course was stated to be of a one year duration but now they are forced to pursue the course for second year.
They demanded that they be allowed to pursue the course for a single year.
Sukesh Sharma, a B.Ed aspirant from Jammu said, “Those in Kashmir should follow the guidelines of the honourable Supreme Court. When everyone else has to complete a 2-year degree, why should those in Kashmir have it easier?”
The same thought was repeated by Rupali who is pursuing graduation from Science College Jammu, “It felt like discrimination and now it has ended. Now the would be teachers from Jammu can stand at a level-playing field in terms of working experience.”
