NPP to launch struggle in favour of Anganwadi workers: Mankotia
KATHUA, March 28: Expressing deep anguish over the behavior of the coalition government, former MLA and NPP state president Balwant Singh Mankotia reiterated that party would launch struggle in favor of Anganwadi workers/helpers at district headquarters in Jammu province. He disclosed that party activists would come on roads and lodge a strong protest from 29th March 2018 in support of protesting Anganwadi workers/helpers in Jammu region.
NPP state president Balwant Singh Mankotia today joined the protest dharna of Anganwadi workers/helpers at Kathua and extended full support to the agitating workers. While addressing the Anganwadi workers/helpers, former MLA and NPP state president Balwant Singh Mankotia disclosed that he has joined the protest dharnas organized by Anganwadi workers/helpers at Rajouri, Poonch, Pouni, and Reasi area and highlighted the genuine issues of protesting workers with the government.
He further said that on 22nd March 2018, a memorandum submitted by him to Chief Minister Mehbobba Mufti and also raised the issue of non-payment of salaries of Anganwadi workers/helpers from last eight months.
A demand for the increase of wages from existing six thousand to ten thousand per month for Anganwadi workers and six thousand to helpers has been put forth by him in the memorandum, said Mankotia. Chief Minister assured him to address the genuine issues of these protesting workers but unfortunately, the government has failed to address the demand of protesting Anganwadi workers/helpers as yet.
Mankotia reiterated that party has extended full support to the protesting worker/helpers agitating for their right and NPP has remained no other option to launch a struggle for its logical conclusion. He disclosed that party would launch protest dharna in support of Anganwadi workers/helpers from March 29th at all district headquarters of Jammu province.
