Omar Abdullah pitches for sending an all party delegation to PM for approval of flood relief funds

Former Chief Minister and NC working president Omar Abdullah, today pitched for sending an all party delegation to meet the Prime Minister for the approval of Rs. 44000 Crore sanctioned for relief and rehabilitation of the flood hit people of the valley. During the discussions regarding the flood situation, Omar Abdullah said that an all party delegation should be sent to the Prime Minister for approval of Rs 44000 Crores package for the flood hit people. Omar insisted that the NC would members would join the delegation and impress upon the Prime Minister to approve the full fledged package. Taking a dig at the Union Government, the opposition leader said that the grant should be fully approved without any penny cut from it. He also accused the authorities of discrimination and bias in the distribution of flood relief as he alleged that the relief is being distributed on political basis and the ruling party is distributing relief to their own workers. He also accused the Mufti government of making contradictory statements over the issue of floods. Proper measures need to be taken for restoration of the flood hit areas as well as the flood prone areas need attention, he said.
