Omar Abdullah, opposition walkout alleging discrimination with Kashmir

Srinagar, June 27: Opposition parties on Monday staged a walk-out from Jammu and Kashmir Legislative assembly to protest “discrimination” with Kashmir.

The opposition legislators, led by National Conference Working president Omar Abdullah staged a walk-out asking why IIT or IIM was not sanctioned for Kashmir valley.

On the same demand, MLA Langate Er Rashid protested in the well of the House.

The Jammu and Kashmir government on May 1 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi for setting up of IIT in Jammu.
