Omar continues to be the CM on government websites
Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has taken oath as the Chief Minister on March 1 but some websites run by the government continue to regard Omar Abdullah as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir. A website namely http://jkgrievance.nic.in was established by the former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in 2009 and is operated by the state National Informatics Centre (NIC). The portal was targeted to bring forth the grievances registered by the people to get them addressed by the government. The portal also had a separate page with the tag ‘Know Your CM’ which displays information about the current Chief Minister of J&K including his qualification, hobbies, special interests. The website still displays the obsolete content on which the government claims to be spending hefty amounts for the updating of the latest information. Even after three months of Abdullah’s resignation the website continues remain dominated by him. Just below the link the ‘View Status’ icon claims him to be the CM of the state.
While inaugurating the portal Omar had said that he is just a click away, ‘barring for those who want employment and transfer.’ He said that he is providing an opportunity to people to register their complaints and get details about the status and nature of disposals.
If such is the condition of the uploading of the latest data, one fails to understand what would have been the fate of the complaints registered on the portal.
