Former Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, just days ago called the NIT Srinagar issue not a small one after the CRPF had been stationed at the premises. He had tweeted about the same.
In an attempt to taking a jibe at the first woman Chief Minister of the state, Mehbooba Mufti, Omar yesterday tweeted a couple of recent images with one showing the funeral procession of a recently killed militant who was given a gun salute, rioters burning a police vehicle a day after the killing of the militants and a protester assaulting the policeman with a lathi connecting it with yesterday’s demonstration in South Kashmir.
The fact that the former chief minister has not removed the image even now raises questions on if the image infact is a recent one or the fact that working president of the NC is trying to legitimize it and does not want to change a decision simply because parody accounts attempted to troll him.
His day old tweet reads “Protesters assault police, burn their vehicle & militants are given a “gun salute”. CM talks about office cleanliness!!!”.
Soon enough, Mr. Abdullah’s tweet found itself in the middle of a controversy when an allegation saying that this picture of a youth hitting the cop with a lathi was infact from 2010 when 120 persons mostly youth were killed in security force and police firing and Mr Abdullah was the Chief Minister of J&K at the time.
These are some tweets which drew the attention of the internet by a parody account on Omar Abdullah, @SirRavindra Jadeja and a snapshot of the original pic allegedly from 2010
