Srinagar June 08: A one day workshop on Juvenile justice for police officers of Budgam District in association with an NGO Save the Children was organized in DPL Budgam today.
The workshop was held to sensitize the officers in the field about Juvenile justice integrated child protection in collaboration. The work shop was attended by over 60 officers and personal of District Budgam including SP Budgam, ASP Budgam, DYSP DAR and DSYP Headquarters Budgam and SHO’s of the district.
Speaking on the occasion Ms. Mahrukh said that twenty five years of conflict in J&K has caused severe disruption to the education and the children have become more vulnerable to exploitation and violence in the state.
She further said that the one-day Workshop is aimed to enable the police officer of the district for better understanding of the laws and will help them to make use of all the provisions in the best interest of the concerned child.
SP Budgam Sh. Fayaz Ahmad said that he hoped that the workshop will strengthen the enforcement process and bring forth greater accountability by all dealing with the implementation of the provisions of the Act.
